Helping Asian Inclusive Finance Ecological Construction and promoting the digital development of Inclusive Finance

        On the afternoon of July 2, 2020, Beijing time, Boao Forum for Asia, together with the Asian Financial Cooperation Association, and with the support of the digital finance research center of Peking University, held an online round table conference on Asian inclusive financial ecological construction and digital development, and released the flagship report of Boao Forum for Asia, "Asian financial development report - Inclusive Finance".


        Zhou Xiaochuan, vice president of Boao Forum for Asia, delivered a keynote speech at the meeting. Tian Guoli, chairman of the Asian Financial Cooperation Association and chairman of China Construction Bank, and Professor Yunus, Nobel laureate, delivered speeches at the meeting. Li Baodong, Secretary General of Boao Forum for Asia, presided over the meeting and released the flagship report. Chen Kewen, Secretary General of the Asian Financial Cooperation Association, delivered a welcome speech. Several important representatives of the industry and academia, such as lehagwasullen, governor of the Central Bank of Mongolia, Mikhail botaoyi, deputy governor of the Central Bank of Hungary, the people’’s Bank of China and the Korean Financial Supervision Institute, Jing Xiandong, chairman of ant group, and Professor Huang Yiping of Peking University, made key speeches at the meeting. More than 130 high-level representatives from the industry, academia and media from BFA members and cooperative institutions participated in the seminar.


        Zhou Xiaochuan, vice president of Boao Forum for Asia, pointed out in his speech that China has established a diversified and wide coverage inclusive financial institution system through continuous reform. Asian countries can strengthen the cross-border experience comparison and exchange, deepen the understanding of Inclusive Finance, promote the practice of Inclusive Finance, enhance the financial sustainability of financial institutions rooted and serving the grass-roots level, and provide diversified financial services for small and medium-sized enterprises and vulnerable groups in a down-to-earth manner.


        Participants pointed out that inclusive finance plays an important role in supporting the development of the real economy, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises and vulnerable groups, and improving social welfare. In the context of the impact of the new epidemic on the global economy, the role of Inclusive Finance has been further highlighted, and digital Inclusive Finance has played a key role in timely and accurate provision of contactless financial services. The participants discussed in depth the issues that should be focused on in promoting inclusive financial ecosystem construction and digital development under and after the epidemic.


        "Asian financial development report - Inclusive Finance" was jointly completed by Boao Forum for Asia Research Institute and Asian Financial Cooperation Association.
