International Science, Technology and Innovation Forum of Boao Forum for Asia 2025 Hong Kong Conference (ISTIF), jointly hosted by Boao Forum for Asia and the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’’s Republic of China, will be held on June 6-7 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. Under the theme of “Transitioning Towards the Future: Powered by STI”, ISTIF aims to comprehensively review the current status, challenges, risks, and future trends of scientific and technological innovation. Based on this, it will provide feasible suggestions and solutions on how to strengthen global sci-tech governance, guide the formulation of new sci-tech rules, contribute to the United Nations’’ 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, bridge the digital divide, and promote international cooperation. The conference will also focus on in-depth discussions of cutting-edge and hot topics, aiming to build a high-end platform for exchanges, dialogue, and cooperation and inject new vitality into the development of global science and technology innovation.
On April 16, during the grand opening of the 137th Canton Fair, with global merchants gathering, the ISTIF Guangzhou Promotion Meeting was held in Pazhou, Guangzhou. As a forefront of China’’s opening-up and the core engine of International Science and Technology Innovation Center in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area , Guangzhou has a solid foundation for the integrated development of industry, academia, and research, and has made continuous breakthroughs in the field of scientific and technological innovation in recent years. The emerging industries like artificial intelligence, digital economy, and biomedicine are developing rapidly, and the industrial agglomeration effect has become increasingly prominent. Relying on strategic platforms such as the National Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Application Pilot Zone, Guangzhou is actively integrating into the global innovation network, deeply linking global innovation resources, and providing fertile soil for industrial development.
Judyth Nsababera, Consul General of the Consulate General of the Republic of Ugandain Guangzhou, Bharat Khanal, Consul General of the Consulate General of Nepal in Guangzhou, Pham Quang Hung, Consul of the Consulate General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Guangzhou, and Umberto Nadddie, CEO of the Italy Council China Fondation, and representatives from government, business, academia and research institutions, industrial enterprises and mainstream media in the field of scientific and technological innovation, including the New Zealand Guangdong Chamber of Commerce, Guangdong Provincial Association for Science and Technology, Guangdong Association of Artificial Intelligence Industry, Guangdong Knowledge Economy Development Promotion Association, and South China University of Technology etc, totaling more than 80 guests attended ISTIF Guangzhou Promotion Meeting.
Mr. Li Guangtao, Managing Director of YI WU International Exhibition Co., Ltd., the Executive Unit of ISTIF, fully introduced to the guests the profound background of the Boao Forum for Asia, the development history of ISTIF, as well as the core content of the agenda arrangement and participation policies of ISTIF Hong Kong Conference, and shared the significance of holding the ISTIF Hong Kong Conference in response to media questions. Judyth Nsababera, Consul General of Consulate General of the Republic of Ugandain Guangzhou, also shared her views on the development of global technology and expressed her expectation for deeper international exchanges and cooperation at ISTIF Hong Kong Conference.
