On October 12, the Boao Forum for Asia held a press conference on the first International Forum on science, technology and innovation in Guangzhou. Li Baodong, Secretary General of the Boao Forum for Asia, Chen Guokai, Minister of economy of the Liaison Office of the Central People’’s Government in Macao Special Administrative Region, Liang Weiwei, executive chairman of the presidium of the first Congress, Liu Weiming, chairman of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Bureau, and Li Guangtao, managing director of Yuexiu Exhibition Co., Ltd., introduced relevant information of the conference. At the press conference, Secretary General Li Baodong pointed out that the International Forum on science and technology and innovation is another brand-new, comprehensive and high-end platform for political, business and academic exchanges and dialogue in the field of scientific and technological innovation by giving full play to the advantages of "cross culture, cross field and cross sector". The board of directors of Boao Forum for Asia attaches great importance to the conference, and President Ban Ki moon has made instructions on the preparatory work of the conference for many times. At present, the innovation capability of Asian economies has been significantly improved year by year, and the core innovation regions in the world are gradually moving eastward. Asia is gradually narrowing the gap with Europe and the United States in science and technology innovation, and even surpasses in some fields. Based on the novel coronavirus pneumonia and the new trend of development in Asia and the world, the Forum on international technology and innovation forum is a major component of the common destiny of human beings and is consistent with the long-term vision of human development.

Chen Guokai said that Macao SAR enjoys political stability, social harmony, rapid economic growth, continuous improvement of people’’s livelihood, and rapid development of science and technology. Taking Macao as the platform, the first conference is conducive to strengthening international exchanges and cooperation in the field of scientific and technological innovation, promoting the emergence of scientific and technological innovation achievements and transforming them into practical productive forces, and providing a steady stream of positive scientific and technological energy for the sustainable development of Asia and even the world. The joint office of the Chinese Communist Party of Macao will fully support the holding of the conference in Macao, give full play to its role as a bridge, do a good job in docking and coordination, and create conditions for the successful holding of the first conference.
Liang Weiwei said that the first conference held in Macao, a region with close international ties, has played an active role as a platform for promoting inter regional exchanges and cooperation for a long time. It will provide new opportunities and new platforms for international cooperation in the field of scientific and technological innovation. It will also help to turn the Great Bay area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao into an international scientific and technological innovation center with global influence and promote the moderately diversified development of Macao’’s economy 。 It is believed that the conference will gather the wisdom of all parties and jointly provide new thinking and make new contributions to the recovery of social economy and sustainable development.
Liu Weiming said that scientific and technological innovation has always been an important force for social and economic development towards high quality. The International Forum on science and technology and innovation has created an opportunity for Macao to deepen exchanges with domestic and foreign countries in science and technology innovation related fields, promote industry government university research cooperation, promote various industries to make good use of scientific and technological tools and means, enhance development momentum, and help Macao’’s moderately diversified economic development. The co organizers and executive agencies of the conference also introduced the specific arrangements of the International Forum on science, technology and innovation. On the morning of November 10, the first conference will hold a grand opening ceremony and plenary meeting in Macao’’s commercial and trade cooperation service platform complex between China and Portuguese speaking countries. Representatives of multi-national political figures, government departments of Portuguese speaking countries and international organizations will be invited to make an online meeting with representatives of the Chinese government of the host country, Macao SAR, experts and scholars in the field of scientific and technological innovation and outstanding entrepreneurs 800 people attended the meeting. In the three days, the conference will focus on "innovation enabling sustainable development" and hold 12 wonderful sub forum discussions in three aspects of "innovation driving force", "innovative life" and "innovation cooperation". The speakers, mainly offline and supplemented by online forms, released the latest technologies and achievements, exchanged the latest observations and insights, and shared their views and wisdom on World Health and sustainable development.
