International Science, Technology and Innovation Forum of Boao Forum for Asia 2025 Hong Kong Conference, co-hosted by Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) and the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’’s Republic of China (HKSAR), will be held on June 6-7, 2025 in Hong Kong. With the theme of “Transitioning Towards the Future: Powered by Science and Technology Innovation”, ISTIF will focus on global innovation ecology, global science and technology governance, the UN 2030 Agenda and sustainable development, the innovation chain and industry chain of new quality productivity, and the cutting-edge topics including Life Sciences, Artificial Intelligence, Mobility in the Future, and Quantum Technology for in-depth discussion.
Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) established the Conference of the International Science, Technology and Innovation Forum (ISTIF) in 2019, aiming to strengthen global science and technology governance, promote international cooperation in innovation, lead the formulation of rules on new technologies, and accelerate the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The conference was successfully held in Macau,Guangzhou and Zhuhai in 2020,2022 and 2023 respectively. Mr. Edmund Ho Hau Wah, Vice Chairman of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), is the Chairman of ISTIF, and Mr. Aho, former Prime Minister of Finland and an internationally renowned innovation expert, is the Honorary Chairman.
ISTIF is featured with political and business dialogues, industry-academia exchanges, and enterprise connection. Every year, government departments, scientific research institutes, science and technology enterprises, and venture capitals are invited to discuss the new trends of scientific and technological development, promote the establishment of new framework of global scientific and technological governance, grasp the cutting-edge technologies and new opportunities of future industries, and promote the international scientific and technological cooperation, which help ISTIF become an important platform for exchanges, dialogues and cooperation in the field of science, technology and innovation.
The holding of ISTIF in Hong Kong will give full play to Hong Kong’’s regional advantages of connecting to the Mainland, facing the Asia-Pacific and accessing to the world, deepen the construction of Hong Kong as an international science, technology and innovation center, promote the Greater Bay Area to build a science and technology cluster and an innovation highland of global significance, and engage in regional cooperation in a more in-depth manner, so as to form a synergy among all parties and contribute to the development of China and Asia.
